How to Apply Your DTF Transfers
Follow these steps for best results and long-lasting designs
Heat Settings
Set your heat press to a temperature between 310–320°F. This range helps the adhesive melt properly and bond with the fabric.
Pressure
Apply medium to firm pressure during pressing. Too light pressure may cause the design to peel, while proper pressure ensures strong adhesion.
Press Time
Press the transfer for 10 seconds. This gives enough time for the design to fully attach to the fabric.
Peeling
After pressing, peel the film instantly while it is still hot. The instant peel provides quicker cycle times allowing you to get more done in a shorter amount of time.
Final Press
Place parchment paper or a Teflon sheet over the design and press again for 10 seconds. This step improves durability, smooths the finish, and makes the print feel better on the fabric.
⚠️ Important Tips
- Pre-press the garment for 3–5 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles
- Make sure the garment is flat, clean, and wrinkle-free before applying
- Avoid placing the transfer over seams, collars, or zippers
- Let the garment cool down before stretching or wearing
- Always use a heat press for best results (not a regular iron)
